About Me
I, Trent Alldredge, was born in Mesa, AZ. Everyone in my family, of which I am the youngest, have been avid readers. I have one brother and four sisters, though now my family includes brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, my wife, and our children. As a child, my imagination ran wild reading books about dragons, wizards, and heroes. By the second grade I was already turning in writing assignments on becoming an author when I grew up. I wrote and rewrote the first book of Jake Swinglar on paper then on a computer, changing it significantly over the years growing up. I never finished it. But that practice was invaluable.
While I did go to college to become an electrical engineer to be able to safely provide for my family, I never lost my desire to become an author. My disorganized book planning became structured and empowered after watching Brandon Sanderson’s free YouTube posting of his college course on creative writing. I started a new series, the Draumr Chronicles. I finished the first few drafts, worked on improving it with my beta readers, and felt confident it was ready for the world.
After trying and failing for a year to get that book traditionally published, I moved on to another series: Wanderers of Alandra. Agents and publishers turned me down there too, but I wasn’t going to stop there. I polished my books with significant help from family and friends and now present to you…well, whichever book(s) that brought you to this site.
I now live in Minnesota with my wife and our three children. They are each such a blessing to me. Often, my children request impromptu stories for bedtime about space heroes or the occasional fantasy story. And my wife is very encouraging and endured my countless statements that started with “Someday when I’m a full-time author…”
Maybe, just maybe, that’ll be today.
